KEDGE

Kedge for logistics teams

Keep every handoff visible — from mainland depot to island storeroom.

Receiving, cargo plans, sailings and arrival checks in one record, worked from a phone.

  • The order is already on the phone.Staff open the delivery's purchase order in Telegram and tap each line — full, partial or short. No typing, no re-keying.
  • Received now, shipped later.Goods booked in at the mainland store keep their remaining quantity visible until they are allocated to a sailing — nothing sits forgotten at the depot.
  • Pick the sailing at receive time.A line can load straight onto a departure, or wait and be allocated in the app. Runs are planned up to two months ahead.
  • The manifest builds itself.Every received line lands on the run's cargo plan. There is no limit on how many orders load onto one sailing.
  • Weight before it sails. Each line carries its weight from the item catalogue. The load plan totals the cargo, flags anything unweighed and warns when a run goes over its allowance.
  • A manifest you can hand over. The cargo manifest is generated as an A4 PDF — print it, file it, or forward it to the captain and the island office.
  • Checked at arrival.Landed quantities are confirmed against the departed manifest — shorts and damage carry forward as recorded exceptions, not surprises.

The document itself

The manifest the skipper takes.

A heavy barge run, printed the way it leaves Kedge: fuel drums and gas bottles at the top with hazardous goods marked, dry goods, produce, beverage and cleaning stock below, weights totalled against the barge allowance, and space to write what came up short before it is signed.

Barge cargo manifest for the Island Runner, 13 August 2026: 34 lines of fuel drums, LPG cylinders, dry goods, produce, beverage and cleaning stock, totalling 616 units and 11,887.9 kg against a 12,400 kg goods allowance, with sign-off for the vessel master.

  • Weights come with the line. Each item carries its catalogue weight, so the run totals itself and anything unweighed is named on the document.
  • Hazardous goods are marked.Fuel, gas and pool chemicals are flagged on the line the skipper reads, not in a separate list.
  • Shorts are written on the same line.Whatever is noted on arrival is entered against that manifest line when the run is marked arrived.

Thirty minutes on one real cycle — the stock position, a suggested order, the review. If it is not a fit, we will say so in the meeting.
